Fransisco is a first generation coffee producer who lives with his wife and young kids. For many years he dreamed of being a coffee farmer, but due to economic hardship he had to leave Huehue to find work as a migrant laborer in Mexico. He saved up enough money finally buy a small parcel of land back in 2010. He bought the land in two parts, and he now produces quality coffee.

Fransisco is part of the cooperative El Sendero which provides coffee producers support and information around Concepcion Huista in the Huehuetenango region. The cooperative was formed in 2016 and it has grown rapidly. It currently serves 659 members, of which 350 produce coffee. The cooperative now operates its own receiving warehouse in order to make it easier for its members to reach the market with their high quality coffees.

The farm name, Tzun Witz, is a word in the Popti Mayan language referring to the summit of a mountain. The farm is located on the outskirts of one of the largest mountain ranges in Huehue.

"During my first years as a coffee farmer, we were disillusioned because we were selling coffee to local middlemen. With those prices we didn't earn enough to cover the costs of farming. Now, thanks to the presence of La Central de Cafe [Primavera's export company] and the El Sendero Cooperative, we are happy to have access to training and we're happy with how far we've come." -Fransisco
