Finca Juan Martin is an innovative and experimental farm owned and operated by Banexport, the same group that we work with for our offerings from Manos Juntas. The goal and focus of this project are to cultivate, harvest, and process different varieties in order to develop appropriate practices for each step toward optimum coffee quality. Beyond this, Juan Martin serves as a resource and example for coffee producers that sell and export their coffees through Banexport. Located in the highest area of Sotara, just 30 mins from Cauca's capital of Popayan, Juan Martin is dedicated to developing environmentally-conscious practices as well as providing jobs to community members with educational opportunities. Juan Martin has consistently placed well in Cup of Excellence competitions and serves as a model farm for producers all over Colombia.  The farm aims to develop quality-focused cultivation techniques with eleven varieities and counting, ranging from traditional (Caturra, Castillo) to recently discovered (Red Striped Bourbon) to famous and exotic (Sidra, Pink Bourbon), and the most famous of all: Gesha- this lot.  The flavors from this offering are truly out of this world.  Extremely perfumed and intensely floral, we also get lots of berry and cherry notes, with a subtle citrus note through the finish.
